Nan_Sea Posted April 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2014 They cannot be used for FCC. They will be billed to your credit card.

Arlened236 Posted April 25, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 25, 2014 Just an FYI...if you do not spend all of your onboard credit you will get a check back from Princess. We finished our Panama cruise on March 17th and we received a very nice check yesterday from Princess for the remaining amount...we had over $700 shipboard credit (FCC, Military, stock ownership, TA) Since this was our 4th Panama cruise we did not take any excursions (did it on our own). It was a plesant surprise to get the check.

Of course if I've guaranteed my portfolio using my credit card, any unused amount is credited back to my card.

Rare cr8tiv1 Posted April 25, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2014 There was only one time that Princess sent me a check. It must have been the beginning of the new policy and the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. My cabin mate received her credit back to her credit card. I was told that I couldn't do that and a check "would be in the mail." I did have to follow up with it when I returned, but the check was indeed received. As bhopal21 has mentioned..."What is that?" Generally, the casino or Facets erodes my OBC. Not much to spend on a one night cruise when the casino is closed! Thank you Princess for allowing the combination of credits. Times Prince Posted April 25, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 25, 2014 Many OBC sources specify they are a "use it or lose it" category, however some, like your TA credit or money you put on account pre-cruise are coded in the billing system to be refundable. Their system software is apparently designed the consume the non-refundable first (or might just be a glitch in the software). Last cruise I had TA, FCC, and Shareholder's Benefit, and the OBC section in the Travel Summary stated: * Please enjoy these credits onboard as they are not refundable We did have one cruise with OBC from a move-over offer, and that OBC was refundable - and this was stated when we were offered the credit. Onboard that cruise was when we found out about the coding within the Purser's system. We had about 1/4 of the Move-over OBC left at the end of the cruise and had a choice of cash or to sign a credit slip to credit our Visa card - it was not an automatic credit back to the card. You may not exit the ship at the end of the cruise if you have a positive balance on your shipboard account.
