I have been told we need to book one of the excursions through carnival in order to get off the ship in belize. Is this true? None of the choices (9 total) look like something I want to do and we have a 5 year old so our choices are somewhat limited. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated!:D

I dont know who told you this but NO you do not have to book with carnival, we will be on the Glory in August and stopping in Belize, we will be booking our cave tubing with a private company, Now I will say if you have a Carnival excursion booked I think you are off the ship first since it is a tendering port, we have FTTF so this will get us off the ship quickly, for sure check out private excursions, they are much cheaper

Definitely not true. People get off the ship in Belize and might not even have anything booked at all and just hang out in the port. You can do whatever you want and with whomever you want.

Maybe you were confused about the tendering process like the above poster mentioned? They allow all the priority and cruise booked excursions on the tenders first, but it goes pretty quickly.
