plan2travel Posted April 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Three of us will debark Allure on Sunday, May 18. We plan to use Luggage Valet if available (flying Southwest). Our previous experience in port was a long, long line to collect our luggage and get off the ship and then an hour long taxi line. We were on Celebrity and it was spring break so this cruise is a little different. We have a later flight so will go from the port to Bimini Boatyard for lunch. I know this is a short trip but we would like to avoid a long taxi line. Would it make sense to hire a town car to pick us up? It's not about the cost, one of us has mobility issues. Or, at this time of the year, will there likely be a shorter taxi line?
Booking It Posted April 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2014 We've done the Allure twice. Once at Christmas and the other at spring break. Customs line was slow, but once we got out, we literally got right into a taxi. The only people who were actually waiting for a taxi were a few large groups who were waiting for a larger one (like an SUV or van). This was after debarking the ship around 9:15ish both times. joepeka Posted April 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2014 Allure uses terminal 18 in Port Everglades which is really very well run from a taxi availability standpoint. You definitely won't be waiting an hour for a taxi in fact, since you're doing luggage valet, you will probably spend more time getting through customs (which is pretty quick) than waiting for a cab. plan2travel Posted April 29, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Thank you for your responses. It sounds like getting a taxi won't be an issue. Thanks again.
