Pirate Party on Disney Dream

The servers in the MRDs will be in costume, as will the characters around the ship. Whether you dress up or not is totally up to you and there is no right or wrong. Some people go all out and are as elaborately dressed as the CMs. Other people wear a pirate themed t-shirt with jeans, and others do nothing at all. Warning--it is windy on desk. Secure your hats or they will blow off.

There is a stage show on deck with fireworks following and then a buffet (because you don't get enough food already, right?) Earlier in the evening (like 7:30) there is a kid oriented stage show.

If you wish, bring full pirate costumes! We made shirts with skulls and crossbones. You will receive a bandana with pirate Mickey on it. All 3 restaurants will have the pirate menu (have the short ribs). I want to say the serving staff was in pirate getup.

On deck after late dinner, there will be a dance party with characters. Jack Sparrow and Mickey make appearances and there are fireworks. We heard that other cruise lines will tail Disney ships on pirate night to see the fireworks.

After the deck party, there is a late buffet with turkey legs and crepes among other items. On our cruise, after all that, they had a Frozen singalong that started at 11:30. The teenagers and almost teenagers did that while we old folks went to bed!

It's fun!

Just a little clarification, if it's a 3 night cruise, there is no Pirate menu in the MDR. Each MDR serves it's own menu. But the servers still dress as pirates.

And, between the two dinner seatings, there's the "Mickey's Pirates IN the Caribbean" show. More family friendly (with Mickey and gang) than the show after the late dinner seating "Buccaneer Blast" That's more of a Jack Sparrow type pirate show followed by the fireworks.

Pirate night is a lot of fun. Note: that the 7:30 show geared for the younger ones gets very very crowded so get a good spot early. Also the Jack Sparrow show (which is my families favorite) also gets very crowded so get there at least an hour early. Grab a spot on starboard side at the railing for a great view of the show and fireworks. The dance party following is fun too.

You can't see them all or have the full experience as there fired from forward as well as aft.

Sent from my iPad.

They also will ask you to not be out on our balcony during fireworks, for safety reasons.
