Bon Voyage Experience Review (BVE) Grand Princess – San Francisco, April 2014

Hi Smokey, were you part of the CC gathering on the Grand?

 

 

I wasn't sailing on the Grand, just doing a BVE, and we were not part of CC gathering for that.

Once I received my BVE booking number via email I went online to “My Princess” and finished the registration process. Again, having sailed with Princess before, the process was quite easy since they have my passport number and other information already stored. Basically, I only had to enter my credit card number. This will be charged if you make any on board purchases. Since the store and casino are closed in harbor this really only means drinks.

 

 

I've signed my son up for the BVE. I'm not understanding what else he/we needs to do besides print out the paper. My husband and I are sailing. Him and his wife are doing the BVE.

 

OK. I think I figured this out. I had to go in and manually add his booking number in the personalizer. Now he will have to get back on and add his credit card number. Thanks for posting this in the first place. I don't think the print out said anything about doing this...?

Sounds like you have sorted it out, but basically once He has received a confirmation from Princess that a BVE has been booked then he will need to go into the Cruise Personalizer and complete the booking process, just as if he were going on the cruise. THEN he can print out a boarding pass.

If your son as not sailed with Princes before, then he will need to be set up with a Captain's Circle Number before he can into the Cruise Personalizer to complete the process.

Here is the summary of what I did before:

He has sailed before and he referred his (newlywed) wife so both of them are in the computer just fine. The part that I am still having a hard time with is that there is still no mention on paper or the computer that ties us to him. (our booking # to theirs) Maybe I am just being too anal or distrusting? I just don't want to have paid the money and wasted the only day we get to see them by us being sent to the end of the line because it's not OUR time to board. Tell me it will all work out and just chill out. The days are ticking away and our cruise will be here before I know it. We will get to see our son and new daughter (for a short time) and then get to go off and have the honeymoon we never had. As the days are going by I am finding that I am becoming more O.C.D if that could be possible. :eek: Thanks for your input!

What I would do is, once your son and daughter-in-law have registered for the BVE and got their boarding passes, then I would call Princess and ask them to confirm that all of your reservation numbers are linked. So far, doing that has been all that is necessary for me, but it would not hurt to ask if they can send you an email confirming that linkage in writing. I completely understand that having them do the BVE is big part of the experience for you!

So far, doing that has been all that is necessary for me, but it would not hurt to ask if they can send you an email confirming that linkage in writing. I completely understand that having them do the BVE is big part of the experience for you!

 

I'm glad that my over-thinking is not too absurd. I will call tomorrow and see what kind of customer service rep I can reach on the phone.
