Post Cruise Hotel Recommendation

Please help!! We have 1 day/nite in Miami after our cruise on July 5th. Looking for something with a "tropical resort feel" - nice pool with outdoor bar/restaurant poolside, prefer on the beach or at least with beach access, kid friendly (we will have our 13yo son with us), walking distance to some shopping (high end not necessary!!) and bars/restaurants? We've never been to Miami or surrounding area so have no idea where to even start looking. Not interested in being around the South Beach night life. We have an EARLY flight the next morning!! :( Thanks!!

Much of what you want can be found in Miami Beach -- head north from South beach for more family friendly spots. You will be a 20-30 minute cab ride from the airport.

 

You could also look in Coconut Grove - no beach, but lots of fun lodging and dining options there and you will be closer (but not close) to the MIA airport.

 

Pull up the Miami area on Google Maps to get the lay of the land and then check reviews on trip advisor before booking anything.

Familiarize yourself with Miami Beach on tripadvisor. There are many beautiful big resorts that would fit your family. And at that time you should beable to find a nice price too. You do not have to go down to south beach.
