Imagination vs Inspiration

Recommended Posts

I was on the Inspiration last year, my question is "how does it compare to the Imagination"? I am mainly asking about the décor of the ship.

What is the atrium like?? Is is black with neon like the Inspiration??

What are the public areas like?? Windows?? Dark and night club feeling??

The Lido area?? Does it have the purple sea urchin type things crawling up the columns along the ceiling??

Thank you for any information.

The Imagination's decor wasn't quite as wild as the Inspiration's.

No Ursula's Skirt in the buffet, but I-beams with cut out circles that glow turquoise.

Otherwise the ships are extremely similar.

Never sailed the Inspiration, but I don't recall any really over the top decor on the Imagination. We loved the Imagination and had a great time on both cruises. I remember the Fascination having pretty bad palm trees and coconuts all over the dining areas, so I'd like to think I'd remember something crazy looking in the Imagination. Was having too much fun to notice the decor I guess.

We loved the Imagination, didn't seem TOO garish, but it did remind me a little of old Vegas :)

We have a B2B booked on her again in February and then a 4 day on the Inspiration in September. From almost everything I've read, those ships are pretty interchangeable. It's just whether you'd rather a Sun-Thu or a Mon-Fri :)

As SadieN said, choose by date - there is not enough difference between the two ships to make a major distinction. I happen to like the decor on the Imagination better, but recently we've had better crew on the Inspiration. YMMV.

Funny how the reviews differ. I have been on both ships this year (3 times on Imagination and twice on Inspiration). I have love both and they were very similar in decor. The Imagination only edged out because of the band that plays theme music every night at the casino bar. It didn't matter whether we were grooving to the 70's, rocking to the 80's or jamming with contemporary...they were the best ship band of all cruises I've been on.
