Hockeymomof3girls Posted May 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2014 We are new to cruising and just returned from our first cruise on Carnival Splendor during April vacation. I noticed that RCI has a sale now and we are contemplating booking for April 2015. Is there a chance that more departures will be added for that week along the eastern coast? Should I take advantage of this sale or wait to book later? We live in Maine and need to find a cruise that will depart from a port that we can drive to: NYC, Baltimore... During April 17th-26th? Please advise. Thanks! Sent from my iPad using Forums
LindaO Posted May 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2014 (edited) As far as I can tell all sailings are showing... all ships.. I may be wrong but I believe all the sailings posted is what you have to work with. If you are in the US... go ahead and book a cruise. If something does open up that works better for you, as long as you are prior to final payment you won't lose any $$$ and you can book something else or get a refund. Glad you enjoyed your first cruise.. hope you find an RCI cruise that works for you! Edited May 8, 2014 by LindaO
rxs148 Posted May 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2014 There not any other sailings added to special. But even after final payment you can sometimes negotiate a credit or something if prices drop. No guarantees but sometimes a phone call can help

No guarantees but sometimes a phone call can help It has been several years since RCI has issued any OBC for a price drop after final payment. After final payment your only option is a upgrade to a higher cabin if it is the same price or less than what you paid and then provided that the price is not restricted to new bookings. deliver42 Posted May 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2014 I just booked a 9 night cruise on the Serenade, and there was a $750.00 discount on the second passenger. It gets broken down on the reservation. Travel ins. was also less. It was on Superior balcony, mid-ship.

If I were you, I would do a mock booking and see the results. FYI. I was able to get a Oasis Central Park balcony for Feb. '16 for less than $800 per with the balcony discount and the half-price.
