coolestwife Posted August 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2005 Help! Should I purchase Carnival's Vacation Protection AND Travel Insurance (from a seperate company)?? Carnival's description seems to cover what we would need...or am i reading it incorrectly? If I do get Travel Insurance from an outside company should I still get Carnival's Vacation Protection as well??? Soooo confused!
tribbs1 Posted August 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2005 Just get the policy that covers the most issues that may come up. I don't think it is worth it to pay 2 premiums. I'm sure one is better than the other. Also, book your cruise w/a credit card as that may give you additional coverage.
hdawson Posted August 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2005 Third party insurance company. This is the best site for comparison of companys, policies and premiums. http://www.insuremytrip.com

jerseygirl3 Posted August 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2005 I'm not sure what the Carnival Vacation Protection is. But as far as travel insurance (which I highly recommend), go to http://www.insuremytrip.com. Fill out the form to obtain a quote (it's done instantly with no obligation). We like Travelex Travel Lite policy. Excellent rating and one of the most reasonably priced. It will most likely be significantly less than purchasing through Carnival, and it carries more protection. To come up with the price of the trip you want to insure, just add together the cost of your cruise and air (if you are flying). If you don't know the exact amount of your air yet, just estimate. As long as you purchase Travelex Travel Lite's policy within 21 days of booking your cruise, they will waive all pre-existing conditions.

francina Posted August 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 2, 2005 Wow, that's great to know another place you can get travel insurance. Carnival prices I felt was kind of high and I always went without. However, this time I am going to look into it.
