Freedom vs. Navigator

Recommended Posts

We are debating between these two ships for April 2016. We will have been on the Freedom twice but not the NOS, only her sister the Mariner. We loved the Mariner in 2008 we we sailed her but she was our first cruise (so not sure if that was part of it)

We are sailing on the Allure and the Oasis and the Freedom this year and the Indy in 2015 before the Navigator cruise. Will we like the Nav after the others or should we stick with the Freedom?

Freedom is western itinerary and Navigator is eastern that includes San Juan, St. Kitts, St. Maarteen and Labadee (but we will have just done that itinerary minus Labadee on the Oct. Indy cruise)

Travel companions have never been Voyager class ships (only Oasis and Freedom)

Navigator was extensively redone in February. She looks like a brand new ship for the most part. They added some cabins and added the "virtual balconies" to some existing inside cabins. Even w/ the extra passengers, she didn't feel crowded. Food was good. Service was great. They now have a Flow Rider as well as the rock climbing wall and they redid the mini golf.

I'd select the itinerary which most appeals to all of you and go from there.

It's a close match between Freedom and Navigator now, since Navigator's been redone. However, if there are young children along, Freedom might be better since it has the H2O zone.

The Navigator has stadium style seating around the main pool and a small whirlpool inside the fitness center. I recall a three tier main dining room. (2003/2004 cruise)

You've cruised Freedom, it's a great ship and has the H2O Zone and Flowrider. It has a two tier main dining room. (Fall 2013 cruise)

Maybe some of the above has been added or changed.

The variable for me is the transportation to the embarkation port and the total cost of the cruise.
