dimiegirl Posted May 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2014 Hello. I am looking at a cruise that departs on August 3rd for the mediterranean on the silhouette ..I am not sure if I should go with the inside guarantee or pay for an inside stateroom in a location that I can choose. I was wondering what the experience has been of others who have booked inside guarantees..

If you aren't happy with that option, don't book guarantee inside.

Yellowfurbaby Posted May 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2014 Depends on how bothered you are about your location against what the saving is. If it was a considerable saving I would certainly consider it. If only a small amount then no Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
enicgb Posted May 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2014 We booked a guarantee inside cabin for this very same cruise, and we have been assigned an inside cabin. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
WALKER1313 Posted May 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2014 You will receive a stateroom inside the ship, no lounger and sleeping bags on cruise ships, only on ferries. We have friends(70+cruises) who do this always and almost always end up on floor 2. We tried it once and ended up with a great upgrade, but won't risk it again as we like to travel on the top decks as a priority. But, roll the dice and report the results. You might also try looking at the websites that show all the staterooms available to see(?) your odds. Sites not to be mentioned here.
DebbieMacG Posted May 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2014 May 2012 Booked an inside gty and got an outside (later upgraded to a balcony by paying more) May 2013 Booked an inside gty and got inside cat 9 (highest cat inside, very pleased with cabin) May 2014 Booked an inside gty and got an inside cat 9 ( yet to sail but cabin looks good) We usually book at gty for our May cruise and a balcony for Oct/Nov one. The above advice is good, it doesn't matter what anyone else got, you've got to be happy with the worst cabin possible in the cat you are doing the gty in. We've always booked with an expectation of getting the cupboard under the stairs! If it's better than that you can only be happy :)
