Panda3 Posted May 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2014 Hi All, I just got off a 7 day cruise on the Oasis of the seas. ON day 5 they called me to say I was a VIP and to come by the casino host for more information. I did and this is what the deal is. I received: *1 Casino Royale Polo shirt in the color of my choosing *4 free drink coupons * No 5% casino cash surcharge (free) *lifetime status of VIP *Entry for a contest for a free cruise. If I cruise RCI again I will have to let the casino host know on day one that I am a VIP. (not sure if that does anything for me on that cruise lol) Just wanted to share. I play slots and 3 card poker but the pit bosses in 3 card weren't really monitoring so I guess I got this because of slots. I play max on machines so $3 to $4 a pull for about an hour to to a day (after dinner) Just sharing so you know the latest "perks"
ibfishing2 Posted May 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2014 We were on Oasis in September and I was totally surprised at their perks. I am the slot layer in my family :-). We did a b2b and on the 2nd leg, I received cash back from 1st leg and that totally surprised me. Be sure and ALWAYS have your card inserted because you get CASH for points. My DH also received drink tickets, (I guess they wanted to keep him happy too, so I could keep playing.) :). I also received: *1 Casino Royale Polo shirt in the color of my choosing (also one for DH) *UNLIMITED drink tickets (We had tickets left over) * No 5% casino cash surcharge (free) *lifetime status of VIP *Entry for a contest for a free cruise. *Free tickets for nightly drawings (If you play, don't hesitate to ask for more drink tickets if you need them.) Have fun and WIN!

PompeySailor Posted May 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2014 VIP status really is a great comp The DW and I have never paid for drinks in any Casino Royale We always tip the servers well and also the dealers Have a closet of T-shirts and VIP badges Comp bottles of wine sent to MDR from Casino Host/Director And OBC pretty much on every sailing We always call Miami 2 weeks before sailing to see what credit we have:D The 3% 5% cash out is waived and we are able to get a 5k line of credit each day if we want it Happy Days!! I urge you to call up Casino Royal on land and ask if you have "comp money" for a future cruise or if they are offering you a room. Often times you are entitled to a future comp in cash waiting for you upon arrival or you might get a free room, inside, oceanview maybe even a balcony depending on the play and the date you are looking for...... If you are looking to see of you have a room or room discount it will help to have a cruise in mind for them to check.....it would also help if the cruise is not smack in the middle of the summer or February break...those cruises are much harder to get for free..... Been VIP for 10'years and the comps are great, agreed slot play with sea pass card in machine gets better monitoring unless you are playing $50 a hand on BJ Always get some form of OBC for next cruise from Casino. We always call Miami a few weeks before we cruise to see how much, and get the names of Casino Host and Manager prior to sailing, so we can introduce ourselves and establish our on board account and get the nice little sticker on sea pass card for zero commission on transactions. Be lucky Happy Days.
brotheranddoramae Posted October 21, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2014 Curious if any one else has been told their cash rebates will expire on March 15th, 2015? While on-board, I was told I would be able to use my cash rebate towards my next cruise that I already have booked in October 2015. I was told this by the Casino Host. When I called Casino Royale when I got home, they tell me I can not use them, they have to be used on a cruise before March 15th, 2015 or they will expire. They will not honor the $500.00 in rebates I earned unless I go on another cruise before the expiration, I JUST GOT HOME. Any suggestions on what I can do? Yes received email September 19th, and we were told use or lose! For us we have cruises booked in Nov2014 and March2015 so we will use whatever rebate we get from November in March. Have spoken to CR office and they said there were no exceptions, as new program goes live March 15th 2015. Others have said that they have been told if cruises were booked by Oct2014 regardless of next sail date, rebates would be honored. So guess it seems to be a matter of who you talk to at RC CR We are working on the email and flyer and phone call as use or lose by March as the way forward. Happy Days! Artemus Posted October 22, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 22, 2014 These perks sound nice, but not really that nice. I thought I had read on here that RCCL's casinos had progressed to be up to the standards of many land based casinos' comping systems.
PompeySailor Posted October 22, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 22, 2014 These perks sound nice, but not really that nice. I thought I had read on here that RCCL's casinos had progressed to be up to the standards of many land based casinos' comping systems. There is a new program roll out March 2015 to mirror land based casinos We await the new benefits. But all I can say, is being MlIfe and CR VIP, here is a list of the perks we have received over the years, and they are not too shabby compared to some land based casino's. Free cruise Upgrades from JS to GS Casino rates on all bookings, way cheaper than even BOGOHO offers Free wine pretty much every meal Free drinks always when in Casino Entry into $15k slot tourneys (invite only x10 VIP members) Speciality dining free Rebates every other cruise from previous cruise rating Excellent service Special VIP invite only cruises DD loaded credits on Seapass card for arcade Lifetime membership (will possibly change with new program) let's hope not;) Now fully understand nothing is free as money down, gets you all the above:) Give me a land based that will give me all of the above
Artemus Posted October 23, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Those are indeed very good comps, Pompey. I look forward to RCCL's new system in March. I thought the new system had already started.
canuckcruiselover Posted November 6, 2014 #12 Share Posted November 6, 2014 I, too, am a VIP member and receive all the perks listed. I haven't paid for a cruise or gratuities in several years. Well, sure I've paid for them due to long hours in the casino . . . but I've heard that some members get free meals in one of the specialty restaurants onboard. Is this something you have to ask the Casino Host for?

Tinaed Posted November 9, 2014 #14 Share Posted November 9, 2014 How does one become a VIP member via casinos on RCI?
PompeySailor Posted November 9, 2014 #15 Share Posted November 9, 2014 How does one become a VIP member via casinos on RCI? By invitation only. To have a shot at invitation by Casino Manager Bet $50 per hand at Blackjack $25 per spin at roulette $3 min spin on slots. Factor in about 4hrs play in the casino each day, and you might get invited to become a VIP. Just a guideline, but most will concur this is pretty much the norm for invitation. Happy Days! March 15th 2015 the program is changing.

Life is Good Cruising Posted January 5, 2015 #17 Share Posted January 5, 2015 Just spoke to Club Royale and was was advised that they are still working on the details on their new player's club benefits that go into effect 3/15/15. An email will be sent out shortly (no date given) to Club Royale VIP members. Has anyone hear of updates yet to their new program?
LOVINCRUIZIN Posted January 7, 2015 #18 Share Posted January 7, 2015 I didn't know they were making changes. I don;t like the guesswork with their program. You rarely know what benefits you have unless you reach out to them. Carnival gives letters and emails and clearly shows you on their website what spefically they are offering you. In fact, I just got another offer for a free cruise and am considering Alaska for May (after my April Caribbean)

sunnymandala Posted April 20, 2015 #20 Share Posted April 20, 2015 This isn't related to any of the above but a question of interest if anyone can answer. I am going to be on the Quantum of the Seas for 45 days starting in May and am wondering if the royal casino has live Texas Hold'em tournaments. If nobody knows can you tell me who I would contact to find out. Thanks in advance Rowena

esuer Posted April 30, 2015 #22 Share Posted April 30, 2015 I'm a slot player but I'm pretty sure they were calling people's names in the casino for their poker tournaments when I was on Quantum in November.
BobKat406 Posted July 8, 2015 #23 Share Posted July 8, 2015 When we were on the Quantum they had the Texas Hold em (Live) tournament for the Win-a-cruise. However, they did run cash games each evening. I didn't see any sit and go type tournaments being run.
