wantocruisemore Posted May 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2014 Or pica pica, or however you know it. I know it will be the season and wondered if anyone at Belize recently had a run in with those nasty jellyfish larvae?

wantocruisemore Posted May 12, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted May 12, 2014 Jellyfish larvae, you end up with red marks all over from water. They're very tiny. Just wondering if they are out right now. Leaving sat. and I know they tend to be around in spurts.
Rare crewsweeper Posted May 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2014 I think this time of year it depends on the wind and currents. Strong winds driving waves will tend to bring them closer to shore. Forecasts I'm seeing for next week shows winds under 10mph in Belize all week. But if you're using a guide, they should be aware if pica-pica are present and let folks know. For some reason all the no see'ums always find my DH and 1 of the DD's.
rpm Posted May 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2014 My wife apparently got nailed on our 19 April week trip. Wasn't apparent until later in the day. I had only a few and probably thought they were chiggers until I saw her welts. Take some hydrocortinsone cream in your kit and you should be fine. wantocruisemore Posted May 27, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted May 27, 2014 Update on trip. Had a perfect day with Ivar. No sea lice. He said there was some around last month but none recently. Our day in Belize with Ivar was the best day of the cruise! The snorkeling there is amazing!
