I've seen several reports that there is lots of smoking on Getaway becasue ot isn't limited to certain areas. Is there lots of smoke in common areas? DH and I are sensitive to smoke so it would be a deal breaker for us.

Thanks for any info you can share.

Not smoke, but definitely an ashtray smell.

Like all NCL ships, smoking is restricted to balconies, the casino, and certain specified areas. It's not allowed in most common areas of the ship.

I've not found any more smoke on an NCL ship than I've found on Carnival or RCCL

Just got off the GA on Sat, I'm a smoker, but didn't smoke other than on my balcony (neighbors were also smokers so it wasn't a bother) and in parts of the casino ( there are non-smoking sections of the casino where the machines are in the main corridor) I asked my sister (non-smoker) if the smell bothered her near the atrium, and she said she didn't really notice it, and she does notice smoky smells. You should be ok, and if you see someone smoking in a non-smoking area, let a crew member know it bothers you and I'm sure they will ask the offender to stop.

I just got off Getaway on Saturday. There is a definite smoke smell on deck 6 near Le Bistro and Headliners that comes from the casino above on deck 7. I tried not to linger in that area for too long. One night we tried to get in to Le Bistro w/o a reservation and were offered a table in the al fresco dining area. Needless to say, we declined.

I just got of the Getaway on Saturday, and it is a shame that a new ship has that smell already, never really saw anyone smoking in the casino and did not spend much time in the casino, it was our muster location, but the smell is definitely there, hard to avoid when going to some venues
