Has anyone booked a cruise with TA perks (i.e. OBC) and used a significant Casino Royale discount for their cruise fare (successfully)?

I was told that if I use the casino discount I can't get TA perks!! That's frustrating:mad:

I am a Casino Royale player but I always utilize the best deal I can get for my cruise pay for it myself beforehand and then once on board, pick up whatever monies I have recouped from the casino at the cage when it opens. That way, I am never restricted from any other discounts that come my way.

I am also a member of Casino Royal and if you book through a TA, you can not go through Casino Royal for a discount that they would offer you on rooms. If you are entitled to cash back from Casino Royal you will still be able to pick the $ at the Cashier's cage in the Casino.

why would you be frustrated. If you book thru casino royal and get a discount a TA wouldn't get commission if any - so any OBC from a TA would be out of their pocket. Wouldn't make sense for them to do that for you.

My frustration is not with the TA but how it is treated. What's the difference if I apply it now against the cruise (like a cash payment) instead of getting there taking the cash and applying it to a credit card payment I made as final payment for the cruise? I guess I looked at it as cash is cash - whether the payment comes directly from me or from Casino Royale.

Paid the down payment and then had Casino Royale apply our credits as cash to the booking.

Our Oasis cruise in August is the first time we actually booked through the Club. The discount was amazing. We didn't realize that before.

However, I cannot complain about our past bookings. We made good deals.

Our next cruise is a 'designated' club cruise. I do not think the discount would be as great as if we wanted to pick another date.

If not, then it might make sense to just book on your own.

Also, you cannot use your 'next cruise' booking credit when you book through the club...

you know, the kind you buy onboard.
