leaving kids at camp while in port

I am taking DD on her 2nd cruise in November. We are going on the carnival sunshine. On her first cruise she was with me when we were in port. This cruise there are a couple of ports where I would like to take her off the ship for an excursion and then take her back to camp for the last few hours that we are in port. Has anyone done this? I remember Camp Carnival being open while we were in port but I think they may have closed once we got back on the ship to get ready for dinner or something. So as long as I pick her up right when I get back on the ship I shouldn't be a problem, right?
