Cashing in fun play chips

So, my husband and I both got the mailer about special casino rates on cruises along with $50 in fun play chips each

We did book a cruise within the cruising timeframe but it wasn't one that had the special rates. Our PVP said no problem, just take your coupons to the casino cage and you can still get them. Let's just say our PVP has given me the spiel before on other things only to later find out he either lied or doesn't know what's what.

So, has anybody been in the same situation and gotten the chips? We leave Sunday and I wondered if I should call somebody to confirm that our names are on the list. It's not a huge

amount but if we are entitled would be nice to get a little seed money :-)

Oh, and how do fun play chips work? Are they the same as money?

Anytime ive been on a casino rate cruise ive always taken the coupon to the cage and they give me cash, then i turn around and put in the dollar slots only to see it disappear within a hour or so.. they always get it back plus some somehow..but i seem to get the offers all the time so i guess its alright

Fun chips are yellow "cash" chips that have no cash value. You have to play them. They pay you with cash chips and take the fun chips. For example on a roulette even bet, you play $25 on black on it hits. They pay you $25 cash chip and take your $25 fun chip. If you don't hit, they just take your $25 fun chip. Any cash chips you win can be taken to the cashier and cashed in. Sometimes they don't have fun chips and will just give you cash chips.

This happened to me once. Was on a cruise with a non-casino rate, but they accepted my coupon for casino cash, maybe because we booked and sailed within the dates stated on the coupon? Or maybe they would have accepted it anyway?

Every time I have cashed in my coupon, they have checked a clipboard for my name and then crossed it off.

On a different sailing I had two different coupons and tried to use both. No go. I used the higher amount.

Take it and try. All they can do is say no. But if you booked and sail within the coupon time frame, you should be good!

Thanks for the explanation and for the telephone number. I called and was assured I could get the chips as the casino cage, no problem. She looked up my VIFP number and confirmed the $ amount. I guess as long as you book and sail within the required timeframe you're good. Now if I can just use their seed money wisely :-)
