Hotel and dinner

Our pre-cruise hotel is the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 which has given us some great views of the surrounding waterways and is a stones throw away from Port Everglades. A good tip for anyone staying at the Hyatt is that it has an Avis location in the hotel. We rented a car from Avis at the airport to give us the flexibility of picking up necessities for the cruise like sunscreen, toiletries, etc without having to haul it in our luggage. As everyone knows there's Walgreens and CVS on 17th St as well as Publix and Total Wine and More which makes the Hyatt very convenient. I ordered online from Total Wine 2 bottles of Moscato for the ship since that's my wife's favorite wine and I believe they don't carry Moscato's on the ship.

Anyways after checking in to the hotel we decided to have dinner at Bimini Boatyard. The bimini bread was delicious along with the crab cake dinner my wife choose along with my filet. The nightcap was the delicious key lime pie.

My wife and I are at Pier 66 as well getting ready to depart for the Allure!

WOW

You are there so early, earlier than I was last year and probably earlier than my husband will let me be in a couple months:eek:

Are you in the building?

Are you first in line?

How many others are with you ---tell me.

Safe travels

Sea ya

We're in the building, now waiting in the gold area.

We got here a little early but woke up and had a leisurely breakfast at the Hyatt.

I've been on board the Freedom and Voyager class ships but Allure blows those ships away. We're thoroughly enjoying the ship so far. Here's some pics before our muster drill.

Love this picture. Do you have to be staying at the Hyatt Pier 66 to get a picture like this or is there a place at the hotel for a visitor to get the pic?

Also, if you book a room here, do you have to ask for a certain type room to get this view and if so, what type room is it called?

There's the private venue event at the very top of the hotel where you might be able to take pictures. But if you do stay at the hotel you need to get a room in the tower with a view of the marina. The Hyatt is a great property especially if you can get a tower view. My one negative is the air conditioning wasn't that great.

Room

My wife and I got a D4 balcony on the starboard side room #7672 sandwiched on the deck between the Boardwalk and Central Park. I kind of wish I picked a room on the port side instead but we're still really excited for our room. Part of our philosophy in choosing a room on deck 7 was the fact that we were unsure of how easy Allure would be to get around. This deck allows us to be close to the Boardwalk, Central Park, the Promenade, and of course the casino!!

We just got off yesterday. Stayed in room 7676. Loved the location. A little far to the pool deck but great for Central Park, Boardwalk, & Promenade. Have a great time.
