Our group of four enjoyed our cruise on Pearl in 2012. The only things I don't like are the pools. The access to the adult pool needs to be easier for me. Although, the access to the other pool is easy, it has a lot of steps and is too deep for children so they hang out on the steps which makes it hard to get in. Also, the whirl pools were crowded with a lot of children playing in them, because the children's pool is too shallow and small.

Other than that, I give Pearl very high marks. The layout of the buffet has many stations, so you don't have to wait in a long line. We had a sold out cruise and we had no trouble finding a table. Have a wonderful cruise!

I was on the Pearl last November to Cozomel/Grand Cayman (a 5 day cruise) and will be on the Pearl again in 2 weeks headed for Alaska this time. We will be in an aft PH this round.

I can tell you anything you'd like to know about the Casino, that's where I spent most of my time.

I will have more details after this cruise, as we will be dining at Cagney's (breakfast/lunch) Tepenyaki and Moderno this time around.

Do you have specific questions?

Sorry to miss you! We just changed from your cruise to the next one leaving April 6. We preferred the itinerary ports.

I've started my cruise website with Pearl and port information: Caribbean. It's from a bunch os sources combined into one website and still under construction. The webpage links are across the top.

Hope this helps.

We didn't do the exact cruise you're speaking of but we did sail on the Pearl in November 2012.

Our cabin was on the 10th deck. Nicely laid out. Bathroom bigger than i expected but still small of course.

Our steward was great..always there to help with a smile. The entertainment was great. Loved Arvin and Emily which is a lounge act that plays almost nightly. Miss hearing them even though i did purchase their CD.

The food was good except for the buffet pool side. Tried that once and that was more than enough.

Everyone on board was very helpful and friendly. We sailed to the Caribbean.

We are in an aft penthouse in Dec. on deck 10, I think I remember seeing a video on youtube of it, deck 8 should be just about the same.

I checked your cruise website, it is wonderful, we are sailing the Pearl in Dec., do you have any idea how far the place to catch the ferry to Peter Island is from where the ship is docked, it seems to go from Baughers Bay which is apart from the ferry that leaves from Road Town, I guess it is run by the Peter Island Resort rather than the regular ferry people, I have tried to figure it out with mapquest and google earth with no luck, a taxi is about 10. one way but just wondering if it can be walked to.

Thanks again for the informative website, very helpful, I hope it's ok that I sneak over to it every once in awhile even though I am not on the same cruise you are :D

We are on deck 9 in and HC aft PH. It was the only one they had left when the price dropped drastically (only $100 more pp than a mini).

I did a balcony on the pearl in Nov and has a Mini an the Jade last June. What a big difference between the Balcony and Mini. The shower and toilet rooms in the Balcony were so tiny and uncomfortable. Very excited to enjoy the space of a PH even if it is an HC. This will be my first PH and my first aft cabin. I will be sure to post pictures, but from what I understand, each decks aft cabins are different. For example, we have a very long balcony, but not as deep as the ones I've seen on deck 10.

I couldn't find any youtube videos for deck 8, only 9 & 10.

I was just on deck 10 aft penthouse (10166) 2 weeks ago. I heard decks 8 and 9's balconies are a little smaller. I'll find out in November, since I couldn't get deck 10 again, I'll be on deck 9,

No, I've never taken the ferry. You might trying posting your question in cruise critic's Ports of Call section for Tortola.

Of course you're always welcome. And please send me links if you find something that I don't have that you think others would like. A link to my email is at the bottom of the home page.

  • 1 month later...

When I read the title of this thread I remembered a former CC'er named "Sneakerstud" who was around when the Pearl was BRAND new. This person was very flamboyant and always referred to the ship as the Beautiful Pearl! I sailed on her when she was just 6 months old and when we met the Hotel Director, he told us at the meet and greet that he was on CC often and had "several identities" here. My sister and I immediately just knew that he had to be Sneakerstud! It became a game for us to find and read his postings like a detective. He was even on a Roll Call, and after the cruise the members mused about him and wondered why he hadn't put in an appearance!

Your post just brought back memories of my first days on CC.
