Questions about Isla Verde Beach

Can someone give me information please about Isla Verde beach -

1. 
   How far is the beach from the cruise port?
   How much is the taxi fare to get there and approximately how much does it cost?
   Is the beach free?
   Is there a closer, nicer beach to the cruise port?

We always stay in Isla Verde. Expect top pay around $20 for a taxi to Isla Verde. Often times people will share the cost. There are chair rentals are available at the beach.

Some of the hotels used to block access to the beach if you needed to pass through their property. Have the taxi drop you where there is public access.

 

Be careful of the time. The traffic on that road back to Old San Juan can get terrible traffic sometimes.

Yes, there is the Condado Beach that is a bit closer. Have the driver drop you at Ashford and Condado, there is a Walgreens on the corner where you can pick up snacks and drinks (beer too). Walk the short block to the beach. There is a guy renting beach chairs for $5. There are no public restrooms but you are close to the stores and restaurants and can find one there. Have a drink at the Atlantic Hotel Beach Bar and you can use one there.

 

You can get there by bus too for .75 cents per person.

 

Closer to OSJ there is Escambron Beach but I haven't been there. Also, there is a very small beach on the lagoon at the Condado Plaza Hilton. There are no waves there so better for those with little kids. Chairs can be rented.
