Carnival Sunshine?

I will be cruising on the Breeze in 3 weeks and have started looking into cruises for next year. Not sure I want to go on the Breeze for a third straight year. Was thinking about on the Sunshine last year. Was wondering if anyone has been on it and if they enjoyed it? Also if you a have been on both the Sunshine and the Breeze which one did you prefer?

I loved Sunshine! I haven't been on Breeze though. Sunshine has the 2.0 upgrades and the multi-deck Serenity area with the waterfall. They had a mini buffet breakfast set up next to the pub area and there was never a crowd there. That was very convenient. Sunshine also has JiJi's Asian Kitchen, Cucina del Capitano, Bonsai Sushi, and Mongolian Wok. Lots of good food choices. The casino is a little larger than normal, extending across the walkway. There were a few bumps reported when Sunshine was fresh out of dry dock, but that has passed and recent reviews have been great. Sunshine is a great choice IMO.

Just got off this am. Loved it! Food was meh for me but the rest was great. Especially loved the Alchemy bar and Guys burgers.

I was on the Sunshine when it was known as the Destiny. It was fun then, and should be more fun now with the upgrades. I haven't been on one I just didn't like at all.

Just off this morning. It was a great cruise. I have been on the Dream and preferred her lido deck. But preferred the Sunshine Serenity area. We were in 7111 balcony. There were no nightstands which I only add as it was discussed before on this board. I would totally book Sunshine again, but I like to try different ships.

Got off the Sunshine last week after an 8 day cruise. She had a lot of little issues in the dining room. She rode poorly in some only choppy seas. Many of the venues are undersized, some have long waits.

 

Sunshine was my 4th Carnival cruise. The first 3 were flawless. I didn't hate the Sunshine, on the contrary, we had a nice time. But I wouldn't sail her again. Liberty, Glory and even Imagination I liked better. And I did hear more than a few folks saying the same thing at disembarkation.

 

For the cheerleaders: Instead of ripping me to shreds, just post about your own experiences on the Sunshine.

We have done an 8 day on the Breeze and we did an 11 day on the Sunshine last month. Of the two ships, we preferred the Breeze. The Sunshine was still good. We missed the t-pool on the Sunshine, but we loved Ji Ji's. The casino was a little smokier on the Sunshine, but we had a killer room that is not offered on the Breeze. I thought the food in the MDR and really just ship wide was way better on the Sunshine. Although the Breeze has been our favorite ship, we thought it had the worst food in the MDR. We also missed the aft pool that the Breeze offers. The serenity pool was cool on the Sunshine, but we only used it once. Overall, we just prefer what Dream class ships have to offer, but the Sunshine ranks 3rd for us after the Breeze and Dream. We much preferred the Sunshine to the Liberty. HTH

Sailed Sunshine twice and really enjoyed the cruise. Ship was a lil crowded but they handled it well. I have sailed Carnival 13 times and I would rank her in my top 3 ships. But everyone has their opinion based on their experience. I say try them all.....lol cant go wrong! Your cruising!
