Limassol?

Has anyone been to Limassol Cyprus? What do you recommed seeing or doing there? Should we do it on our own, or should we do the ships excursion that takes you all over in a Jeep? Any information would be helpful.

Hi April2412

I have stayed in Limassol many times and always stayed at the Four Seasons. The suites are spacious and there are about three dining options. The most important detail for me is that this Hotel has an Adults only pool and it is away from the other pools and busy areas.

There is a good car service that bases itself at the Hotel and I remember a restaurant which is about thirty minutes away in a village called Ziggy (might not be correct spelling) on the waterfront which serves fantastic fish and is frequented mostly by locals

As Jeff says people are here to help with there experiences so don't hesitate to REPLY

We like to do pretty much everything except I am not a big fan of eating or seeing fish. Our cruise is in November, we first thought of doing this port on our own, but we havent heard much about it. We looked at the shore excursions and there is one that looks pretty good, but we would also like some help in case we decide that we do want to go out on our own. I am looking for suggestions or experiences on what others have done, what they did or did not like, what there is to see, and what there is to do. I have not read much about Cyprus on these boards and it would be great to hear about other peoples experiences. Thank you.

From what you say, you have a day? As much info - helps others to advise you!

There is frankly little in Limassol to keep you, particularly in November. It's a dusty port town with constant building. Most hotels are fairly self-sufficient and many people who stay in Limassol often don't venture much further out of their hotels. Limassol is however geographically well placed for trips to other places ssuch as Paphos, Larnaca or the capital Nicosia. Googling those iwll give you an idea of what's on offer. Personally I'd look at a jeep safari at the Akamas peninsula or up into the mountains.

I have a few suggestions for a day:

Jeep safari to Akamas. And example:

Jeep, troodos, or camel safaris

Walk in the mountains, ie Atalanti Trail
