Monkey Farm

I noticed on a local Mahahual map, not too far is a monkey farm called Uyumil Che has anyone ventured here before and if so can you tell me about it?? My son loves monkeys and would love to know if its worth the trip.

I found it. It is located within Mayan Beach Garden (www.mayanbeachgarden.com). They are about 15 miles from the ship. I am leaving Saturday and will do my best to make it there. I am not sure when you are cruising but you can email me directly when I get back for more info at jgordon@irell.com

thanks for the info. I'm sailing saturday too. Glory, how about you? There are ten of us going. I found this monkey farm and thought it would be interesting but really knew nothing about it other then its a monkey farm. We are going to do the beach first across fromt he fishing village and then if time permits may check into the monkey farm.

Thank you so much for your response. Do we actually get to touch/hold the monkeys? That would be the highlight of our trip for my son.. Was it difficult to get a taxi from the ship and do most drivers know where to go?

Has anyone visited this place lately? Can you tell a taxi driver you want a ride there? Will they wait? How long does it take to see the place? How much is the taxi cab ride? Thanks

Anyone been here since the last post? Is it far from Majahual. If we go to the beach, is it easy to get a cab to the farm? How much is the ride? Do the cab dirvers speak English and will they know what you mean if you say Monkey Farm?

I have a little sad news. We attempted to visit the Monkey Farm, but the cab driver told us he could not take us because the mosquitos were terrible. Maybe there had been alot of rain recently. If you go, tell us how it was!!

I am sorry to say, we did not get to the monkey farm. :mad: We asked the people that were getting the cabs and NO ONE, knew of the monkey farm. We were very sad not to go. We really didn't know where to to or we would have gone on our golf cart, that we rented.

Please, if you can, tell me more. If I go there again, I want to go.
