jjdmom8 Posted August 4, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2005 We are booked for an inside qty and I noticed online tonight that we can upgrade to a OV qty for $50 each. Should I upgrade or take my chances on the upgrade fairy visiting us? Also, if we decide to upgrade and I booked with Carnival PVP can I upgrade online or should I call my PVP and do it? This trip is just DH and I and we booked because it was a fairly cheap get-away....any advice out there?
waterrats Posted August 4, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2005 just remember that if you booked a low end inside cabin, if the upgrade fairy does come, it may only be to the next level up inside cabin.
spongerob Posted August 4, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2005 Call your PVP (I'm assuming that's a TA) and arrange it. You might be able to get an even better deal. You didn't say whether or not your final payments had been made. Once those payments have been sent in, specials like the one you saw are often for "new bookings only". Different lines have different policies and reputations in this area.
michmike Posted August 4, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2005 For $50 a person I would definitely do it. But I'm prejudiced as we always book an OV, wife thinks an inside would be too claustrophobic.
kitty9 Posted August 4, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2005 Since almost all ships are sailing full, the upgrade fairy isn't coming around much at all. For that price, I'd grab it. Like another poster said, when you book an inside, chances are you're not going to get a free upgrade to an OV---more likely your upgrade would be to another inside but in a different location. DEL67 Posted August 4, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2005 How much do you care about inside vs outside? If you really care, I would upgrade. if not, I would stay put. $100 is not a lot, but it still is a savings if you do not care.
