Camaroja Posted June 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2014 Just returned! We did not due our homework as we were not planning on doing any shopping, but my husband cannot pass a watch shop! After thinking about it we returned to the Rado shop where they had a watch for $2,400, we got the price down to $1,975, which we thought was ok. Afterwards when we looked on Amazon.com you can buy the watch for $1,450. It's a very nice watch but not happy about the price. I know others have said do you're homework, make sure you do for us it was too late!! :( Also, do your homework for what you buy on the ship as well, there was a difference between what they were selling for and what you can get on Amazon. Lesson don't buy spur of the moment,
Magnetchief Posted June 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2014 That's pretty normal. There is nothing offered for sale 'duty free' that you cannot find cheaper online in the US. Alcohol and tobacco not withstanding.

sail7seas Posted June 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2014 There are almost no bargains left in the Caribbean these days. Shop for the variety, the fun of it, a remembrance of your great cruise but do not think you are getting bargains which used to be years ago. Those days are gone.... particularly on gold, gemstones and watches...... at least that has been our observation.
