Has anyone done both tours in Skagway?

Which tour has the best views?

Which tour has the most comfortable seats?

What about a restroom break?

Which tour has the best view of the falls?

I've taken the train once before and can only say that the views are breathtaking. I can't comment on the bus but in a few weeks we are taking a private tour to Fraser and then taking the train back.

Done both the train and bus (and the Jeep tour too). Views mostly depend on the weather. Early morning views have tended to be obscured by fog and low clouds whether on the train or road. There are things you'll see on either that you won't see on the other, so try both! You can bus up and train down, or vice-versa. There are toilets on the cars of the train and the bus will stop occasionally for a break. My advice is to use them when they are available! ;)

We have done both.

On the bus -- no changing of seats and we had people leaning over us trying to take pictures out our window. Only had 2 stops for restrooms.

Now that DH takes many medications -- the bus is no longer an option -- if that is what you are worried about.

There are restrooms on the train. If you are on the left side going up -- then you will change seats and be on the right side going down. They also flip the seats so no one is riding backwards. We have done this one 3 times and really love it. JMO

We did the combination train/bus tour last September and felt it was the best of both worlds. We made a few stops along the way for the waterfalls, some lunch, a nature museum, and a little town with great coffee. Sorry I can't remember the details, but we felt it was the way to go!

We took the full day train to Bennet and returned in a small van. We had the last car on the train - only about 10 of us. We could walk out the back of the car and sit anywhere we wanted. Beautiful trip and day.

Just to add that on our train trip, we were allowed to stand on the landings on either end of the train for photos and sightseeing. Makes for some very good photos if you are towards the end of the train when you can see ahead on the turns what is coming.

As mentioned above, there was no a/c on the train. They do have stoves for warmth though, if that is needed.

The buses usually have airplane-like restrooms, at least when we've been on them. Stops are at places that also have some bathroom facilities and you get to stop at some very lovely places that the train just can't stop at. The small villages have some quaint shops and small museums too. Our bus stopped for wildlife sightings too, another thing the train can't do. Either way, you really can't go wrong.

This issue is not which one, but which one will allow you to have the best weather. The first time up to Skagway, we used a train. It rained and low clouds.
