Akiba Posted June 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2014 Will be on a cruise with under 2 yr old grandchild and do not remember if cabs in St Maarten have children car seats or if they are required. I have never done a cruise with a infant and my daughter is correctly pretty adamant .If any one can tell me or had some experience in this I would appreciate it. I would really like to take all by cab or jitney to Orient beach which is across the island from the cruise port .
caribsun Posted June 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2014 I don't know the local law but you will need to bring a car seat for the child.
Karysa Posted June 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2014 Ask your question over on the family board. They should be able to help you over there.
bearette Posted June 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2014 I looked it up and they are required for rental cars but I couldn't find anything about whether taxis were exempt. The one thing I did find was they are not allowed to ride in the front seat. From experience from other islands they are usually not required and mostly not available. I have twins and we just held them on our lap. If it is something that concerns you bring your own as finding a cab that has them is hard. OCruisers Posted June 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 8, 2014 You'll have an extremely hard time finding a taxi or other transportation with car seats. LuLu
