Misty Fjord?

The only way to really see Misty Fiords is by air, with a landing somewhere so you can soak it up in silence. I've been with Island Wings twice. By boat, you spend most of your time getting to a tiny corner of it, and miss seeing things like the high lakes, and getting close to waterfalls (though very briefly). The 3 aerial must-sees in Alaska are Glacier Bay, Misty Fiords, and Denali (Mt. McKinley) - probably in that order of priority, IMO.

We have done it both ways. We'll never forget our flight with Michelle of Island Wings and cannot recommend her highly enough -- great flight!

Last year we saw the Misty Fjords by boat and had an amazing trip. Obviously you get an entirely viewpoint seeing the cliffs and waterfalls up close and through the mist.

Gee, you'll just have to return to Alaska so you can do both. :)

If money is no concern, I would recommend flying- scenery incredible. However, our boat ride with Allen Marine was great. Got on the boat right next to the ship at dock; the boat's captain and naturalist were fantastic; there were some snacks and coffee available that were included, other items for purchase. Floating next to walls 2000 to 3000 feet straight up with 1000 feet of water below can make one feel very small and insignificant. We saw bear and eagles, that I can remember. You can walk around the inside of the boat, and in good weather, go to the top open deck. It was a nice, easy going trip.
