Nothing here either. But I always book directly on carnival.com or onboard ship so I do not have a PVP. Is it only people with PVPs who are getting the offers? It doesn't seem to be based on money spent in the casino or number of cruises taken. So I wondered if the selected few are ones with a PVP.

Just look for summer cruises under you VIFP number, the "free" ones will come up--they will say $50.00 for an inside--you can upgrade for $50-$80 each for an oceanview or a balcony. Its all in the mock booking.

Thanks! :)

My sister uses Carnival PVP to book her cruises, and she received the offer for free cruise (Pack and Play), she also gambles in the casino. I have used both Carnival PVP and a different travel agent in past, and found that I had an offer for $400 off for a cruise, but no free cruise offers. My sister asked her PVP if the offer was based on casino points, using Carnival for booking or other criteria for the offers. Her PVP said best offers go to those with most casino points, and those that use Carnival PVP. I'm still left wondering how they give these offers.

My PVP called me last night, wanted to make sure everything was ok with our free cruise next week. She also mentioned there was another round of free cruises going out and that she booked 4 today, including a husband and wife who both received the offer and they were booking 2 cabins and taking family. I told her they could have left the family home and booked a B2B. I think I surprised her with a great idea to pitch to another couple if they too get free cruises.

Edit to add: My PVP also said she is very surprised by Carnival to be giving out these offers for free cruises - they don't even offer free cruises to their own employees.

Not that I'm sure he would know the answer, but has anyone asked John Heald what the rhyme or reason is to some people getting free cruises (some more than once), and some getting none - ever?

I would hate to bother the man, especially since he has to deal with so many boneheads, but he always says he is happy to help. Just for the love of Pete, don't mention Cruise Critic. People that do that make us sound like a bunch of whining brats. Just curious.

I contacted the ole mighty John Heald on his Carnival blog about this and I got a canned reply email "ahoy matey" bull**** that did not specifically address anything I wrote about this lame promotion. I replied that I appreciated the personal response and someone literally replied back saying that if I wanted a response from John I would have better luck on Facebook. Seriously? How stupid of me to think he actually responded to posts on his own blog, lol.

Thanks for trying anyway.

I'm intrigued by this thread as a relative newcomer to the VIFP club. I did get an amazing deal on my upcoming cruise for a Lido balcony by using the past guest 2-upgrades. I used a wonderful PVP this time around and she suggested that cabin. I'll definitely use her to book my next one.

I just checked my special offers and I didn't see anything, though I didn't expect to. However, it occurred to me that perhaps each PVP puts their own guests into the "lottery" and that is why some cruisers have gotten more than one free cruise? That makes the most sense beyond looking at casino and onboard spending.

Only people that use TAs and book without the assistance of anyone have also gotten the offers. Besides, if Carnival is running a free cabin promo where PVPs enter their clients at their leisure or not at all, that sounds pretty rotten. I can deal with them throwing names in virtual hat and pure luck better than that idea. Either way, at this point with 3 and 4 rounds of this with some getting multiple offers, others getting none (including their most loyal guests) I call the whole thing lame just as another poster upthread put it. Casino deals are different, and I can understand those even though I don't gamble. But not everyone that frequents the casino has gotten offers. And when it comes to onboard spending, we usually have a hefty bill especially traveling with kids.;)

I agree with you. I am not a sore loser, but there are many loyal CCL pax who PAY their own way, don't use a PVP, who should be considered. But MULTIPLE free cruises to some.....come on CCL....you can do better than that without forgetting who pays your salaries!!!

It is called Private Pack and Play. At least on my wife's account.

Andy

Ahhh...yes, I do have that one in my offers. I hadn't clicked on it to study it so from the description on the main page I thought it was just a cash offer in the casino. Thanks for the clarification.

On any of our past cruises, I have never gambled more than $30 in the casino, visited the spa, or spent more than $80 in drinks. AND, I have never, ever seen any special offers on my Carnival VIFP account. I would love to receive a free cruise, but I don't think I am "random" enough.

Congrats to those who received free cruises!

Well, no deal once again. :( I just checked all 4 of our VIFP accounts and not one of us got a free cruise offer. You would think that with 4 people at least one of us might have gotten the offer. Just the $50.00 deposits.

Now I am sure that I have been on the website, our PVP will be calling for endlessly trying to get us to book a cruise.

Mailman brought the "Red Carpet Invitation" from Carnival Players Club today. Yep, almost free. 50 per person fare, with 100 onboard credit. taxes, fees, grats 294, with 300 casino cash.

Fine print, just read it. This code, OH6, does NOT include the 300 bucks in casino cash. Only the PC2 code does.

I called Michael at the casino number. He said i have 100 casino cash to use within 24 months, but no free cabin. I don't qualify yet... maybe next time is what he said.... I drop lots of money in the casino, and lots of hours there. I feel I should qualify dang it...
