AlbertaCruisers Posted June 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2014 So, I thought people may be interested to know this. 1. On the Summit in January, I booked a Royal Caribbean Cruise for our friends (who were not with us). It was for the Vision in January 2015 (a specific cruise). They got $100 for booking onboard. 2. Ends up we changed our minds to a Celebrity Cruise and they aren't able to go in January at all. So, for our friends onboard booking, they were just going to cancel and get their $200 back, but we thought it didn't hurt to ask if they could move it to a future Celebrity cruise as we had nothing to lose. They would have just cancelled otherwise and got the $200 back. 3. My friend called in to Celebrity today (Captains club number) and was able to change the onboard booking to our 2016 Eclipse cruise, they got to keep the $200 deposit, got the $250 OBC for booking on board (14 day cruise) and were able to add the beverage package from the current 123 Go sale. I really didn't think you would be able to switch between companies, but it worked. I also am not sure if it matters that we booked while on Celebrity. Also, from what I read, I think it only applies to specific cruises booked and not the future cruise certificates (where you pick the specific cruise later). Anyway, hopefully this information helps someone else.
