Rare All-ready2cruise Posted June 12, 2014 #26 Share Posted June 12, 2014 My husband has decided that dindis must mean dining disaster! :D Haha, good one. We were discussing getting the UDP last evening at dinner. Just can't decide one way of the other. Oh well, lots of time. Love your attitude, happy sails. buckeye82 Posted June 12, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted June 12, 2014 Just saw the new thread titled, "Qs about free UDP for BA/GA. This explains everything! My husband and I got on the wrong ship!
GypsyCarrol Posted June 15, 2014 #28 Share Posted June 15, 2014 OP, Thanks for the detailed post. I have no problem with its length, glad you gave all the information you did about what happened. Good to know what to look out for when we make changes to our reservation. Glad it all worked out in the end, but really unfortunate though about how you had to spend the last night of your cruise. Rochelle Bill and I are going on the Getaway on September 6. This will be our second time on her. Don't take all the money out if the casino. josh453 Posted September 15, 2014 #29 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Just a note, I just got back from the Breakaway, we got DINDIS after upgrading the reservation (and I found this thread and started to worry). Simply stated, dining plan came onto the account without a hitch, our keycards were waiting for us with the UDP stickers already on. Perhaps this is something that NCL has fixed from the past. thistimeplease Posted September 15, 2014 #30 Share Posted September 15, 2014 OP thank you for being clear about what happened to you. I am so sorry it happened but will now document everything. Definitely learned from your post. Don't understand why some posters feel the need to be rude about the length of a post. Guess it just shows the immaturity of some who enjoy posting anonymously. Quilting_Cruiser Posted September 15, 2014 #31 Share Posted September 15, 2014 UDP cost money. Then it was free on promo. Then it wasn't honored. Then it was. . This! Except I would add: OP has a good attitude. :D OP, thank you for explaining clearly what happened (no problem with the length of your post--those who can't read that many words could simply move on without comment, IMO :o). I'm glad it got cleared up, but that would certainly put a damper on what was otherwise a great vacation. Best wishes.
adivineeternity Posted September 15, 2014 #32 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Cool story, brah. J/k. This is good to know. I'm a naturally suspicious person, so I'm probably going to check my bill daily next week and keep careful track of every expense on-board, even moreso now that I have read this. My boyfriend and I got a promotion for a cabin upgrade that we used to get a balcony at oceanview rates, which then made us eligible for free UDPs (had to book balcony or higher for this). I'll be checking for the stickers, which I wouldn't have known about otherwise. So far, everything has gone smoothly. We had one tiny glitch that was entirely on me with regards to final payment in June, but I resolved it less than five minutes after it happened. Here's to hoping this luck continues for me and, better yet, spreads to others. Less stress is always ideal.

If it says this, you should be good to go. At the restaurants, you will have to sign a copy of a receipt which gives the price and then a reduction of 100%. My reservation on the ncl website says UDP under amenities and I've reserved two nights in specialty restaurants and it's not charged me for either of them. Not sure what confirmation you're referring to, but I booked through a different agency than most. Apparently military people don't travel enough and need an agency to encourage them to get out and travel more? I don't claim to know, but the discounts are nice. Rare fabnfortysomething Posted September 15, 2014 #35 Share Posted September 15, 2014 we had a problem with pre paid corks and caps package-apparently no record on their ship system spent 30 mins at guest services on disembarkation day trying to prove we had indeed paid and to get individual drink charges removed. Fortunately had taken all documentation with me but there is definitely a problem with joined up IT systems and kind of puts a downer on your holiday glow! I mentioned this situation in the post cruise survey and got an apologetic email back-hopefully lessons are learned
