chpal Posted June 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Hi, Does anyone have experience in taking a cab from the cruise port directly to Soller? How easy is it to get a cab at the port willing to do that trip, or are we better off to pre-book a cab if we decide to do the trip in this way? Approximately, what's the cost of the one way trip? Thanks for any input!

Thanks for any input! Here are sample taxi fares from the airport - should be similarly priced from the port http://www.mallorcataxi.com/ingles/tarifas.html Although there are always many cabs at the port I am not sure how happy a rank cab would be at taking a fare as far as Soller so it may be advisable to pre-book. LondonTowner Posted June 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 15, 2014 You could have a hire car for a lot cheaper. Alternatively, why not take the train as it is a fun ride and something a bit different.
Elmartellama Posted June 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) I guess you should have no problems. A Taxi ride to Soller is quite fast and the Taxi driver can make 50€ to 60€ in one hour. Just take into account that there's a tunnel toll of about 6€ each way to get to Soller, that of course you'll have to pay. That's 12€ more that would add to the rate based on distances only. chpal Posted June 15, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted June 15, 2014 Thanks for this good information! I think we'll choose one of the other good alternatives :).
IbenO Posted June 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2014 I would suggest not taking the tunnel, but drive on the road up over Coll de Sollér. A month ago I was bicyckling up Soller, and the view is fantastic, as you can see on the attached picture:
