Someone just posted that she'd just gotten back from this cruise and mentioned it was an "elite" cruise so I asked if if she was one of the elite cruisers....this was her response....

"No, I am just old regular casino (i do get premier offers) I got this one free with the many other people that did for the summer from the players club.

They had alot of drawings for $800 to $1500-I asked the casino host what those were for--she said just for the elite members on board. I think they also got free shore excursions and steakhouse dinners also. I am sure lots more, cuz like i said these people were spending HUGE money.

I would say you will be treated like royalty :):) Have fun on your cruise!! "

My Oct 4th Elite cruise is still showing a balance, but not as much as before. I sure wish they would get this straightened out.

Mine is too so I emailed the executive casino host about it last week. He said the balance due is an internal error. The October cruises have already been paid for under the group booking number by the casino. He told me not to worry about the balance due showing. He also said they would be contacting all the players who are sailing under the offer closer to the cruise date to arrange the car service for those who need it and the parking information for those that need that.

I am so excited about this cruise! Can't wait for it to hurry up and get here.

I was able to print my boarding passes despite the "amount being due" still showing on the cruise manager page. I couldn't until I completed online check in, but once I did that, I could. Also the only place it is still showing balance due for me is on the cruise manager page. Once I open the boarding pass and general documents, it shows the payment of the cruise is satisfied.

It talks about pick-ups and choosing your free excursion....great choices on the excursions from dolphin swims to helicopter rides to catamarans...decisions, decisions....

Sounds fantastic! We're not sailing until the Sunshine Oct 4th so I'm sure our email is weeks away. But, please keep us informed and promise you 'll post after your cruise. Getting way excited for this but I do have a cruise booked on the Glory Sept 6th so I'll have something to do while waiting. What ports are you going to on the Freedom?

We're doing Antigua, St Thomas, San Juan & Nassau. For our excursion I chose the private helicopter tour over Antigua. Could have done dolphin swim, zip-lining and 4X4, Atlantis....lots of great choices!

I sent email to Lillian, and she responded that we will be getting email re excursions, parking , etc by the end of the week. And she is checking to see why I still have a balance due, someone forgot to adjust it off I guess.

I got offered my first premier cruise today. When I compared it with no discount at all it came to a $60 savings per person only and this is after dropping 7k in their casinos over 2 trips. The insults just keep coming in from them. I would write to them but I have this feeling they do not care. In fact one of the ladies who works in their players club told me that most of the people who call in are constantly whining about their perks. I kid you not those are her words. Maybe if they stopped insulting their high rollers people would not 'whine'.

I'll give you a great tip. If you're a high roller go to Norwegian and never look back at Carnival again! Carnival is absolute garbage for perks and understanding how to treat high rollers. I even turned down a free cruise and premier cruise because I no longer wanted my money to go to a cruise line that doesn't give a sh*t about me as VERY good customer! Lost 10k on my last cruise, average bet was several hundred per hand with one night betting 1k per hand for hours and didn't even get the elite cruise offer. 4 cruises last year and lost about 20k while spending a lot of time at the tables.

Go to Norwegian where they LOVE the high rollers! Got a free Haven Suite on the EPIC with more amazing perks and I spent less time and lower average bet than Carnival. You won't regret it.

But if you received the "elite" offer it knocks NCL out of the running. It cost me a grand total of $124.98pp for port fees and taxes for a balcony cabin and includes a $200pp excursion and drink cards plus other amenities. NCL charges pretty high taxes and upgrade costs that seem to have nothing to do with actual listed cruise costs. I.E. on NCL an upgrade from an inside to a balcony cabin usually costs about $600pp including port fees and taxes. If I booked it online, not thru the casino, it might cost me $150 more pp....that's not much of a comp.

That's where you're wrong my friend. Elite cruise has a lot to do with luck of the draw and not gambling habits. Norwegian rates their players properly and comps accordingly. You're telling me that my Haven Suite ($4199), casino cash, free drinks, specialty restaurants any night I want with wine included, and fantastic treatment from the NCL casino staff isn't as good as the Carnival "elite" cruise? I haven't been on an elite cruise but if it's better you're going to be in heaven and never cruise another line again. I have friends that only cruise Norwegian because they know their being treated fairly and we all get comped to our level of play, no guessing games or drawing out of a hat like Carnival.

I love the people on Carnival and wish I could choose to cruise them again but they have made it impossible. Norwegian makes it MUCH easier to say Hasta la vista Carnival! Is Norwegian still out of the running compared to the "elite" cruise? :)

Obviously if you're a high roller spending more than $10,000 per cruise in the casino you'd be looking for much better perks than Carnival offers. From what I could tell Carnival had already decided who to offer the "elite" cruises to by the time you'd taken your cruise. I spend $1500-$2000 per cruise in the casino and cruise 7 or 8 times a year. I guess that's why I got offered the elite cruise. NCL only thinks I'm worth a comped inside cabin :(

I'll cruise whichever line is offering me the best deal at the time I'm ready to book my next one ;)

For those that have been on the Elite Cruise in the past. Do they comp your entire bar bill (even if buying rounds of drinks and shots for friends)? My bar bill is always well over $1000 and this will probably be the deciding factor between me taking the Premier Cruise with a comped cabin and $1000 cash and the Elite Cruise with a comped cabin and no cash. My bar bill will offset the $1000 cash and I'll get to see what this Elite Cruise is all about.

If it's like that Cheers program they have (which I never get) with all the restrictions and limits I'll stick with the Premier offer and pay for all the drinks I order.
