Experience with new OBC Specialty Restaurant Promotion

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any actual experience with the new granting of 'Onboard Credit' (OBC) for the booking of multiple specialty restaurants on the cruise planner or onboard the ship. This new promotion has been valid only since May 15th, 2014 to my understanding.

The offer states that :

20% OBC will be granted for fist night bookings.

20% OBC will be granted for 3 specialty restaurant bookings.

25% OBC will be granted for 4 specialty restaurant bookings.

30% OBC will be granted for 5 specialty restaurant bookings.

This offer has replaced the 'Dining Packages'

The OBC is stated to be applied on day 1 of the sailing for use while onboard.

While the 20% is shown in the 'Insider Tips' section of each restaurant on the 'Cruise Planner', they do not specify the 25% and 30% offers there.

The OBC is stated to be calculated on the 'cover charges' 'fees' and the 'a la carte' food purchases. (Beverage and additional gratuities do not add to the OBC)

My questions are:

Has the OBC been granted automatically on day 1?

As Izumi is stated as being included and is an example where OBC is based on an actual 'purchase' with variable check, How are they calculating Izumi OBC?

Are they basing the OBC for Izumi on actual purchase or basing it on say the $5 cover and a $20 average check?

Is the offer cumulative, meaning have you been credited OBC on all venues if booking the 4th and 5th restaurant or has the 20% first night OBC been added to your other 20% for bookings 1, 2 and 3?

Has anybody gotten credit for booking the same venue 3 times, by making 3 individual reservations for say Chops or Giovanni's for 3 separate nights?
