Sawyer glacier on Jewel

Recommended Posts

We are sailing next August and it appears to me that a balcony on the starboard side is preferable. Can anyone please confirm?

Either side will work. The captain typically turns the ship 360 degrees so everyone gets a view of the glacier.

What we experienced on Radiance a few weeks back was that upon approaching Sawyer Glacier, many people we on the top deck or 2nd from the top....to get the best views. There were also a fair number of people on the helipad at that time.

As Bob indicated, the ships do a "turnaround" in the area in front of the glacier before returning down the channel.

The views on the way and back are spectacular, as well as the glacier itself.

Enjoy!

You'll enjoy it.

Dahlonega huh? Our daughter got married at Wolf Mountain a couple of years ago. Know the area well.

Enjoy your glacier sights!

Yep. Dahlonega. We have lived here since 2002....I am actually a New Yorker. :) My friends family owns/runs the Vineyard. Beautiful place.

Thanks for the pictures of the glacier! So looking forward to seeing the sites of Alaska!
