What is and isn't included in Cruise Fare

Hi,

My DW and I are going on the Sun in January with my MIL and her friend who has never cruised before. I have been unable to find a consolidated list of what is and isn't included. So I started my own. I'm sure I have left out things. Any help would be appreciated. BTW, my MIL and friend will not be n a suite.

What is Included in Cruise fare?

 

Cabin and its cleaning at least once a day

Towel animals

Shower soap dispensers, towels etc. (no bar soap)

Some rooms have small Mr. Coffee pots

Beach towels

Transportation from Point A to B, etc.

Meals in the two main dining rooms. Not sure about breakfast and lunch

Buffet

Soft serve ice cream in afternoon

Some room service

Evening entertainment in theater

Library

Card Room

Small pool

Live music by pool, throughout ship at night

Trivia games etc.

Great Outdoors at rear of ship is extension of buffet. Great views

Art auction (free poor champagne) but not art

 

Provided but Not Included in Cruise Fare

Specialty (Cost) Restaurants

Casino

Ship’s stores

$12 per day per person daily service charge (for room stewards, waiters, waitresses etc.)

Extra tips provided to those above but not necessary

Spa Services

$15% auto gratuity on alcohol/ and 18% on spa services

Soda/alcoholic drinks/specialty coffees

Shore excursions whether provided by ship or done privately

Laundry, but there is a reasonable special generally once on a 7 day cruise

Medical Center

Anything in room refrigerator if there is one

I would expand on the "transportation from point A and point B" so cruise newbies realize that transport to and from the port isn't included, and transportation around ports of call are not included.

 

I would also put in that some room service is free, but tipping is recommended.

 

All meals in the MDR should be free. At least, has been on all the ships I have been on.

 

Also, on some ships, there are some entertainment venues that has a charge. Like on Carnival, their concerts. NCL I believe they charge for their dinner/show. And since we are on the NCL thread, that ice bar has a fee. And the vibe is also a fee service.

 

Hope this is helpful, I am just bored ;) But i love your list, as a new cruisers, it definitely would be helpful and all my friends always ask what is included and what is not so it would be helpful to have a list like this compiled
