BeignetBoy Posted June 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2014 We are departing in a few days for a Viking tour from Budapest to Amsterdam. I know that wine and beer is included and that you can also purchase wine on land, and bring in on-board. However, can you purchase liquor on land and bring it on? I know that many cruise ships will not let you do this, and it would seem a bit awkward for guests to have liquor bottles at their table in the lounge, etc. We are considering just purchasing the liquor package, but are wondering about the possibility of just bringing our favorite whisky or vodka on-board. Cary Cruiser Posted June 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) Yes you can bring your own liquor on the ship. We brought a bottle of bourbon and a bottle of vodka on board that we bought at the first port we were at. We did buy drinks at the bar in the lounge throughout the cruise, but also sometimes made our own drinks in the cabin and brought them into the lounge. No one seemed to care. Of course we had to deal with filling the ice bucket in the cabin (not really a big deal) and also had to buy some cranberry juice for my wife's vodka which we kept in the refrigerator (also not that big a deal). Of course buying the Viking package would be the easiest thing to do, but we were happy with what we did.
