meslwd Posted June 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2014 I haven't been on a cruise for about 4 years and am wondering if things have changed in the Casino. I have a few questions.... Can you use cash? Can you charge it to your room? I will be sailing on the Grand in about a week. All information is appreciated. Thanks! Rare cr8tiv1 Posted June 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2014 I can only speak for slot machines. Yes, you may feed the machine cash. You will have to set up a pin number so that your "winnings" can be loaded to your card (to be cashed out). With this same system, you are able to charge your account and it will show up on your portfolio as a casino charge.
cruiser113 Posted June 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2014 Yes you can use cash at the slots or tables. You can turn your chips in for cash. If you play the slots you can not get winnings out unless you set up an account tied to your cruise card. It will be a voucher and you can use it to play another machine or cash in for cash. Once you set up an account with cruise card you can charge to your room , but amounts vary based on level of play and amount per day sometimes. I object 2 Posted June 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2014 Hi Mary: yes, you can either use cash or charge to your room. To charge to your shipboard account, insert your cruise card (room key) into the slot machine and follow the instructions listed on the menu screen. Can't remember the steps exactly, but any of the casino staff will be able to help you. Good luck and enjoy your cruise!
cruiser113 Posted June 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2014 sorry the winnings stay on you card after you set up a pin and then you can move to another machine to continue playing or you can cash out at the cashiers cage.

Actually you must remember to cash out your winnings to your card before you move to another machine or you will walk away from your remaining monies, if any. shredie Posted June 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2014 This is not strictly on topic, but the other day I came across some Princess casino tokens from the slots on the old Regal Princess. Those days are gone!

CruisingJs Posted June 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 24, 2014 Actually you must remember to cash out your winnings to your card before you move to another machine or you will walk away from your remaining monies, if any. Mike:) I've accidentally pulled my card without cashing out a couple of times when I had a brain fart. The machine makes a bong noise and it still transfers the money to your card electronically. They must have figured out a way to compensate for our forgetfulness.
