Ft. Lauderdale Hotels

We are leaving on our honeymoon next May on Oasis of the Seas and want to spend a week before hand in ft. Lauderdale, on a beach and close by the port without spending a exorbitant amount of money(think around 160 a night tops). I do have a tickets a work account that gives me some pretty good prices on rooms and this is what I have narrowed it down to:

Courtyard by marriot beach 137/nt

Pelican Grand Beach Resort 148/nt

Westin Beach Resort 156/nt

Sheraton Beach 136/nt

Has anyone stayed at one or multiple of these hotels and have any feedback or suggestions? or any others they would recommend? Being on the beach is important.

Have you checked out the Lago Mar? It's nice, it's right on the beach and close enough that you can watch the cruise ships sail out. Also only about a 10 minute drive to the cruise port. I think the rooms start at around $160-ish, but they offer AAA and other discounts.

Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately that hotel is 230/nt for my dates.

Im leaning towards the Sheraton on the beach. Anyone have any experience there?

The Westin and Courtyard are in the best locations to walk to places. They are across the street from the beach. Pelican is the nicest IMO but is not close to anything. Sheraton has some buildings on the beach and some buildings across the street. It is a little far from stuff but still walkable.

Yes, we have stayed there once. Unless you are booking an upgraded room on the beach side of the street, you can get a pretty crappy room there with no view of anything, poor plastic/laminate furniture and farthest from the pool and beach. We booked a standard and ugh.

The location is sort of at the end of the the beach road. So to get to Westin/Courtyard locations is probably a mile. Not a bad walk along the beach. But as royal said, it's sort of away from the action. You would be close to Bahia Cabana. One of our favorite outdoor casual places.
