Rome Airport To Port (Civitavecchia) 9/6/05-- Best Way????

DW and are on the Liberty 9/6. We will be arriving at the Rome airport that morning (coming from a few pre-cruise days in London).

What are the transportation options from the airport to the port???? We booked the flights ourselves (using miles) so it's not through Carnival.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

You should be able to purchase airport transfers through Carnival. Check with yout travel agent. You'll have a base price to compare with private companies. A few of those are http://www.rome-airport-shuttle.com and http://www.romashuttle.com The second one seems to have lower rates. I haven't used either, so you might want to wait for more experienced responses. I've been gathering information for my Liberty transatlantic cruise next April.

We are on your sailing - but we are arriving in Rome via London on

Saturday afteroon - we have booked a driver to pick us up at hotel

(Cavalieri Hilton) and take us to the ship on Tuesday and to come pick

us up when the ship returns on the 18th and get us to the airport for

our flight. we booked through romecabs@yahoo.com - info we got off

this site from folkswho had used them before. as info, we are paying

135 Euros for the minivan and driver to take us to hotel and then same

fare 135 Euros for ship to airport but we are a family of 6 - we did not feel

that the $65 pp was a good deal for 6 - you might email romecabs and

ask what they would charge to get you from the airport and take to

ship and then pick you up on return and take back to airport or to hotel,

whatever. They will email you back and tell you the fare. Looking forward to our cruise - bet you are excited too! there is a group of folks who have

been posting on this board for about a year now, we are probably going to

get together for a drink onboard sometime during the first 1 or 2 days

onboard to say hello and toast the Liberty and CCritic which has been so

helpful to us all. Check the postings in the roll Call section below this

one for the 9/6 rollcall Happy Sails to you.
