Isa65, we will be in Curacao on a Sunday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. What would be the best beach? We have 8 people. We have all been to your beautiful island before and taken a tour.

Thank you!

The best beach, since you have such great port hours would be Cas Abao beach at the Western side.

Since there are 8 of you, you can split the cost (long drive - 30 to 40 minutes each way)and you can pre-arrange for the same taxi to pick you up.

Being here on a Sunday means that you have to get to the beach rather early - that's the day most local families go to the beach.

So if you want to get a good shaded spot, make sure you go right after the ship docks.

What type of beach day would your group be interested in? Quiet, relaxing beach or lively with music, shops, bars?

But the very best options are always on the Western side, so you will have to drive a bit. Another way to explore the island, since you have so many hours in port is renting a mini van. You can visit several beaches as well as the Shete Boka national park.

We are in our mid 50's to mid 60's. We are looking for quiet, shade, nice beach and food/drink.

Sorry! How hard is it to get a rental car by the pier?

In that case, I would recommend Blue Bay. It's about 15 minutes by taxi from the pier.

Relaxing beach with a good restaurant and all amenities except a swimming pool.

Avis rent-a-car has a booth at the pier, but I recommend walking a little bit further and renting a car with them at the Howard Johnson hotel. (Quicker service and guaranteed availability with reservations. The pier booth often runs out of cars even if you have prior reservations).
