Clarea Posted July 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) If you are asking if others have reported that email with regard to Galveston, yes, someone reports that email from time to time. Edited July 1, 2014 by clarea
Royalpair Posted July 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2014 We're going on the 20th, and I believe if you look in the cruise booklet, it states the same thing. Face it, people will get there when they want :-) MK
Lexus1224 Posted July 1, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2014 I received something similar when I cruised out of Galveston in May.
OKC Cruisers Posted July 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2014 Yes, this has become a "standard" email when sailing out of Galveston. Because Cruise Terminal #2 (the one used by Navigator) is much smaller, they send this out to try and space the number of arriving passengers so as not to overwhelm the facility. When it gets crowded there, things can bottleneck quickly. The Port of Galveston has agreed to make significant upgrades to this facility before the arrival of Independence later in 2015. We got the same email back in May for our last cruise on Navigator. We arrived at about 11 am and were on the ship in 15 minutes!
Goodtime Cruizin Posted July 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 1, 2014 We recv'd a notice of this nature when we sailed on the Navigator. I think we were the only party on the ship that actually followed these instructions. Unfortunately there was absolutely no RCI rep enforcing the schedule they sent. As a result, we were one of the last 100 people or so to get on board.
ARCruisinNana Posted July 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 1, 2014 Yes, we received that email for our June 22 Navigator Sailing. It also said that C&A members could check-in anytime after 11:30.
Ladysilver Posted July 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) We try to get there between 12:00 and 1:00 pm no matter what deck we're on. The crowds are usually thinned out by then and we have no problem getting on the ship. :D Edited July 1, 2014 by Ladysilver
Flytko Posted July 1, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 1, 2014 Definitely a good thing to know for our trip in February, we've sailed out of terminal 1 before and though it is bigger, it can still take some time to get through screening...

I know that because we are in one in August.
shmthaus Posted July 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 1, 2014 We were on the first sailing on Navigator for the deck 12 cabins and received the same email. Of course, it didn't matter because we had a fog delay... We figured if deck 10 showed up at 11:30am, we could show up at 11am...but alas, with the fog delay, everybody showed up at about 2:30pm.... Goodtime Cruizin Posted July 1, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 1, 2014 FYI... We live in Houston and last Sunday, we daytripped down to Galveston for the day. We drove by the Navigator around 11am and there were about 75-100 people in line and/or at dock side awaiting to get on aboard.
cjdixon4 Posted July 1, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 1, 2014 My group not only received an e-mail back in May, but got an actual recorded phone message as well. We were told to come to the Port of Galveston at 1:30 p.m. We followed our original plans and arrived at 11:15. Was it a bit crowded? Yes, but the lines were manageable inside the terminal and moved along quickly. Now disembarkation...that was a slightly different story.
suebart112 Posted July 1, 2014 #14 Share Posted July 1, 2014 We got the exact same email for our cruise leaving the 12th out of NJ on Explorer.
