Pam Posted July 9, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Kathy, was the Alaskan cruise that we were both on, the inaugural for Mariner? I thought it was, but my TA at the time was so not luxury cruise savvy, and neither were we.
ChatKat in Ca. Posted July 9, 2014 #27 Share Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Yes, Pam - It was June 4, 2001 - the inaugural sailing for the then Radisson Mariner. I remember the F&B manager going to Costco to buy supplies - they ran out of everything, rented a truck and went shopping in Juneau. We were upgraded to a D cabin; The ship crossed the Atlantic to Florida, did a sailing through the Panama Canal. 2nd cruise was LA to Vancouver and then Vancouver to Seward. It was perfection. And the fare was $2100 a person for 11 days plus $800 in cabin credit. Edited July 9, 2014 by ChatKat in Ca.
Pam Posted July 9, 2014 #28 Share Posted July 9, 2014 We were in Seven Seas Aft, think it was Deck 9. Don't remember price or anything else. Perfect suite for Alaska, for sure.
