Looks like it's the L105 service you need.

From the map it also appears that it stops fairly near to the port. Majorca buses we have found excellent and have used them to do excursions to the opposite end of the island on the 'middle' day when you have a long day in port and no need to rush back for an early sail away. The fare to Soller was less than 4€ one way so I would expect it to be less than that as I think Palmanova isn't so far.

We paid 17€ for a taxi from the Port to Palma Nova in November.

September is still high season in Majorca and buses are often full before they reach the stop nearest the Port. Usually OK going back from Palma Nova in the afternoon though so taxi one way and bus the other is a good option.

Good point - but you remind me of when we did our DiY Soller train and tram expedition. We wanted to come back by bus and stop off at Valldemosa for a couple of hours (also miss the organised tours for the 10.00 train) so decided to pitch for the train that went at 8.00ish to get a good start.

Well we tried to get off the ship at 7.15 to get the L1 into the centre - fine so far! But half way along the pier we found we were locked in! We had to shout to some port employees to unlock the gate for us! Needless to say, that bus wasn't busy! :D:D

P.S. Any joy over your proposed move yet campolady? Hope things are moving on for you.

Hi dorlor

We spent the middle day doing a trip to Palma Nova two years ago. Having had a holiday there and also doing a considerable amount of walking in the area we decided to revisit and took the bus.

We walked out of the port complex, turned right, crossed the road and walked right just a short way to the bus stop which we almost missed because it was tucked in a lay-by. There is actually a short parade of shops behind the bus stop.

The most frequent bus is 104 and from memory takes about 30-45 minutes, runs every 10-15 minutes, and was around 3 euros per person each way. If you Google http://www.seemallorca.com/ travel/buses and scroll down to Bus Timetables: South West Lines 100 you will find the buses you require.

We had a leisurely breakfast, took the bus to the end of Magalluf, strolled through Magalluf back towards Palma Nova via the beach where we stopped for a drink, main shops etc. When we reached the end of M and before going down the short road to PN we stopped for a toastie and another drink. Walked through Palma Nova having yet another drink and ice cream and before we knew it we had walked right to the street where the bus goes before heading back to Palma.

The bus on the way back stops just past the entrance to the port at the end of the by-pass on the promenade leading to Palma.

Our day started around 1030 and we got back to the ship around 4.30/5pm relaxed, watered and fed along with a few bags of purchases (which I was able to buy because of our previous visit there ;))

Nothing was done at a rush. If you are beach people, which we are not, you could easily stay longer as you don't have to do lifeboat drill and if you look at the timetable you will be reassured you wont miss the sailing. :)

Mrs Red Scorpion and I are on a back to back on the Dream in September too, our cruise starts on the 6th. This info on Palma Nova is interesting. Previously we went on the Soller Train which is brilliant but this time we wanted to do something else. A trip to Palma Nova might be on the agenda.

Not a whisper yet Kruzseeka! Have already reduced the price to UK equivalent of £205,225. This is us http://www.sunnypalmproperties.eu/listman/listings/l0450.html

What a glorious location and beautiful property campolady. I can quite appreciate what a wrench it must be for you to be leaving. Still onwards and upwards - hopefully you will find somewhere which will make you equally happy once you are settled in your new area. What a bargain too and having reduced it so much already. On the positive side hopefully you will be able to haggle on anything you are interested in so you won't lose out. Keep us posted - and all the very best. :)

It's the 104 106 or 107.

Do not get the 105 as it does not stop at Porto Pi and uses the autoroute to Palma on the way back so misses the port area out.

TIB is the only way to get to Palma Nova by bus.

I would get off at the Avenida Son Matias stop or the Official Tourist office stop and the names of the stops are shown on a display inside the bus telling you the "proxima parada" ( next stop ) and its name.

The EMT buses only run in Palma City area and out as far as the port.

If in doubt book a taxi at just about 20 Euros each way.
