sandjincfl6681 Posted July 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Ship arrives in the morning on October 11 in Boston, we have flights out Sunday afternoon. Any thoughts on where to stay and how to make use of the time? Appreciate hotel recommendations and 'stuff to see' recommendations, keeping reasonably short amount of time in mind! THANKS!:)
138east Posted July 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2014 That is Columbus Day weekend and the downtown hotel prices are showing at $300++ for Oct 11 for a 3*+ hotel. The best deal I'm seeing is a 4* hotel at the airport for $190 + tax with a 95% approval rating on ?Hotwire. This is likely to be the Hilton, which is right in the middle of the airport, but could be the Hyatt Harborside. Transportation from the airport to downtown is easy without luggage. You can walk from the Hilton to terminal E to catch the Silver Line bus (free from the airport) to South Station where you can transfer to the Red Line, or the free shuttle bus to the subway station to take the Blue line for $2.50/ pp to the Aquarium Station, which is next to Faneuil Hall. Don't hesitate to make a decision now. $190 is a great price and the offer won't last long. The Columbus Day weekend is the height of the fall season for fall foliage and college activities. RMLincoln Posted July 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2014 We're doing similar... need one night prior to late evening departure flight. Looking at hotels has us wondering if hotwire might help us get the price down to the stratosphere! Grayline is a tour we were considering for a one day look-see. Looking forward to others' ideas. m--
ssimon Posted July 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2014 We booked the Hyattt Boston Harbor for the 11th through LMT and paid 217.93 for the night. Best price we found and good reviews on Tripadvisor.
138east Posted July 9, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2014 That could be an indication that the Hotwire hotel for $190 is the Hyatt Harborside. That's basically the best deal I'm seeing out there. LMT would have a better cancellation policy.
