I had read a post some time ago that she had entered the fjord around 11am.. can anyone verify? And tell me how long she was there? like, all day? few hours? thanks so much.. vbmom87 Posted July 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Haven't been, but according to the port schedule, the Miracle is in Tracy Arm for seven hours. If true, you are in for an awesome day: http://claalaska.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Tracy-Arm-TA-2014.pdf

Wishing on a star Posted July 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Have been doing some research on this... It seems that having enough time in the Fjord can be a real factor on whether or not the ship actually gets in close enough for viewing of the glacier. (just as much as, if not more than, the amount of ice in the fjord) Most cruises do not have this long. So, you should have an excellent trip! I was looking at Princess, and their itinerary shows only 4 hours. Which means, that, for Princess, we would choose a different itinerary. The Fjord and the Glacier must be amazing!!! You must post a trip report!

stacyrk99 Posted July 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2014 We got off the Miracle on July 1st (cruised Tracy Arm on June 26). We began entering the fjord around 10:30 or 11:00 and didn't turn out of it until around 5:00. It's a day trip cruising pretty slow through the narrow passage. The cruise ship didn't get close to the glacier due to sea lions feeding their young but the small boat tour did go to the smaller of the two glaciers in there. It was an absolutely beautiful day and an amazing place to see. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
