Text from my mom: "Would you want to go on a NYE cruise if I paid?"

Recommended Posts

My mom took me on a trip to Italy. She said she was really only paying for half the trip since she would have had to pay extra as a single. Wonderful Hubby said "Yes" - since I was leaving him with two school aged children and had previously promised to never leave him again for a trip to Europe (I made that promise on the night he gave me my engagement ring - was that binding?)

Hope you and Mom have a wonderful trip.

Mom -- if your child can't make it, I'm a pretty good daughter. I'll take care of you.

I think you can plead an insanity defense. :D

How is this even a question??? Especially when I found out it is QUANTUM that she wants to do because she doesn't want to fly. Fingers and toes crossed this works out!

Now it looks like she has a hold on some rooms for the same itinerary on NCL Breakaway and will call RC later. I have a feeling we are going to end up on NCL, which stinks because A) I am loyal to Royal :) and B) it is a Sun to Sun instead of Sat to Sat. I just like to have the day to recover.

I will not look a gift horse in the mouth though and will be thrilled for a free vacation!

Unfortunately, I am not surprised.

Quantum prices have gone up, up, up since bookings opened in May 2013. And New Year's Eve cruises are the most expensive of the year.

It would cost almost TWICE as much on the Quantum as on the Breakaway.

:(

Hope you are able to go and spend that time with your Mom. Hope everything works out and you are able to go. I love to cruise and sometimes it does not matter what ship I am on but the people we are cruising with. Have an awesome time.

It is confirmed, 7 of us sailing on the NCL Breakaway on December 28th. It felt so weird to swing over the NCL board and not recognize any screen names!!!

And not only did we get balconies, but when Dad called back to change something, he somehow managed to get us in mini-suites for less than they had initially been quoted for the balcony rooms. I'm not going to question it!

You're super lucky- enjoy the cruise and the time spent with your mom :). I'm sure you guys will have a great time and make some great memories.

I wish I could get my mom on one... I don't even know if she'd go if I paid (I don't know why not, she's never cruised but I think she's a little weary/scared of it).
