chiefy_mom Posted July 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2014 My group is interested in a bear-viewing excursion out of Ketchikan, by floatplane. Any feedback on which location is better for viewing on 8/22?
bwaz Posted July 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2014 We went to Neets Bay via seaplane. Ship excursion on Radiance. Great experience. Wonderful plane ride, short level walk to viewing station. A sheltered gazebo type structure on one river bank, with the bears directly across. We probably saw 15 bears fishing for salmon. This was 2002, things could have changed. Budget Queen Posted July 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2014 I have gone to both several times. They have shortened the viewing time at Neets, compared to my earlier trips. I prefer Traitor's in this timeframe.
