S.S.Oceanlover Posted July 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2014 When was the last time you saw the baked Alaska parade through the MDR? What is the percentage of tip added when buying drinks? Thanks Bill

S.S.Oceanlover Posted July 21, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted July 21, 2014 My first cruise in 2000 was the first and only time with the flaming baked alaska they did away with it soon after that 15% on all drinks-- including cans of soda of bottles of water That's what I thought too. Haven't seen a baked Alaska parade since around the early 2000's and thought the drink gratuity was 15%. The reason i asked was because there was an article on a website from the author of a different cruise forum. the article was 10 things the cruise lines should stop. One was the baked alaska parade and the other said they shouldn't hand him a receipt with the 18% already added with an additional line for another tip. One of the other things he said was they should stop having the muster drill since it was a pain to drag your life vest with you. Haven't had to take my life vest to muster for a few years now either. Bill

The customer was not amused. That could hurt. Been at least 5 years I think. Right around the time they stopped preparing desserts such as cherries jubilee at tableside.
