SportsMomof4 Posted July 29, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2014 We want a low key relaxing day with snorkeling, beach chairs, umbrellas, drinks, bathrooms & food. From what I am reading, seems like Coki or Sapphire are our best bets? Are there any other activities offered on these beaches like jet skis, banana boat rides etc?? Any information would be great. Thanks!
Ms411 Posted July 29, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Yes, both beaches offer activities, but Coki offers a few more. There's a banana boat there most days, but no banana boat at Sapphire as of right now.
blue_water Posted July 29, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Both beaches offer all of the amenities you want, the biggest differences are Sapphire offers abundant natural shade along the beach and it's not as lively an atmosphere as Coki. Coki would probably be a more "fun" beach for the teens and kids because more families probably go there and it's a more lively vibe with the vendors and smallness of the bay. But it will also be pretty crowded because it is a small bay. Sapphire is a lower-key beach that's home to 3 condo properties rather than several vendors as is the case at Coki. So the vibe is the main difference - both beaches are gorgeous but we love the natural shade and island views of Sapphire. The dive center at Sapphire rents snorkel gear, kayaks, and other items but there are no banana boat rides there. There is a marina with a jet ski rental however. We're partial to Sapphire, but Coki is also very nice, just a busier vibe. Enjoy one of them!
